The Ryman Auditorium was built in 1892 by businessman and steamboat captain Tom Ryman. For 31 years it was the premier stage for the Grand Ole Opry and the State of Tennessee has officially recognized the Ryman as the Birthplace of Bluegrass. Today, the Ryman remains true to its diverse entertainment legacy, hosting concerts of all genres.
